Packing for a Removal
An international removal requires careful preparation. Well-packed belongings guarantee safe transport between Poland and Ireland.
1Preparing boxes
- ✓Use strong, 3-ply boxes – new or well-preserved.
- ✓Label each box with its contents and destination room (kitchen, bedroom, etc.).
- ✓Do not exceed 25–30 kg per box – they will be safer and easier to carry.
- ✓Boxes with heavy items (books, dishes) should be smaller.
2Packing fragile items
- ✓Wrap each item individually in bubble wrap or packing paper.
- ✓Pack plates upright (like books on a shelf) – less prone to cracking.
- ✓Glasses and mugs: fill the inside with paper, wrap the outside.
- ✓Fill empty spaces in the box – nothing should move.
⚠️
Glass and porcelain are transported at the customer's risk and are not covered by insurance.
3Clothes and textiles
- ✓Clothes on hangers can be left – wrap with stretch film as a bundle.
- ✓Bedding and towels work great as filler between furniture.
- ✓Pack shoes in pairs in bags or wrap with stretch film.
4Preparing furniture
- ✓Disassemble what you can (table legs, shelves, drawers).
- ✓Put screws and small parts in a bag and tape it to the furniture.
- ✓Protect corners and edges with cardboard or foam.
- ✓Wrap upholstered furniture in stretch film – this protects against dirt and scuffs.
💡
Take photos of electronics connections before disconnecting – this will make reconnection easier.
5Documents and valuables
- ✓Take documents, jewellery, cash, and important items with you personally.
- ✓Do not pack them in the removal – they are not covered by insurance.
- ✓Take medicines in your carry-on luggage.
⚠️
Do not pack food, flammable liquids, batteries, or hazardous materials.
